IC
Name: Kurosaki Ichigo
Canon: Bleach
Canon Point: Chapter 683 --->Deerington CRAU
Age: 18
Appearance: Ichigo's most notable feature is his bright orange hair, spiky and on the messy side. He is tall for a Japanese teenager, standing half an inch under 6'. Martial arts and sports alone had him fit before, but Ichigo is incredibly well built due to all of the fighting he does as a substitute Shinigami. He's got light brown eyes, and generally has a scowl on his face. Image here, for good measure! Being CRAU from Deerington, Ichigo also has a very large deer tattoo, only reversed from the image to be on his upper back.

Abilities:
Martial Arts: Ichigo has been in martial arts since he was a young child, so he is an expert at hand to hand combat. Even just in his human body, Ichigo is incredibly strong and fast. He is frequently seen in the manga taking down (sometimes multiple at once) thugs and other assailants with ease, and the fighting done in his Shinigami form has only increased his reaction time and speed. Ichigo is even said to be a better fighter than his childhood friend Arisawa Tatsuki; who is ranked as the second strongest female in Japan.

Spiritual Awareness: Ichigo has always been able to see and interact with spirits. With the added addition of his Shinigami abilities, he is able to sense people even if their reiatsu (or energy) is far away or fading out.!

Shinigami Powers:

  • Immense Spiritual Pressure: Ichigo has a vast, beyond Captain level, amount of reiatsu (spiritual pressure). So much that he actually isn't able to contain it, although he seems to have been able to get a better grasp of controlling over time, even being able to harden it to lessen or even negate attacks on him. It makes stealth difficult for him, as even a person with lower spiritual awareness would likely be able to sense the heaviness of it. It should also be noted that his reiatsu ties directly in to pretty much all of the abilities following; Ichigo's durability, speed, Shikai and Bankai.

  • Durability: Ichigo is ridiculously durable, often being able to take attacks that would incapacitate someone. While some of this has to do with his determination, that seemingly never ending flow of reiatsu is largely responsible. Having refined the ability to almost harden his reiatsu to negate or mitigate the severity of attacks is an indicator, but even before that was achieved by Ichigo, he could endure massive amounts of damage and still keep fighting.

  • Shunpo (Flash Step): Shunpo is a movement technique used by Shinigami that allows them to move at speeds faster than the eye can see. Ichigo is almost as fast as some of the most revered experts with it. By his canon point in the manga, Ichigo is able to move miles in one "step", going completely undetected by his enemies as he does it.

  • Zangetsu(s); Shikai: Ichigo's Shikai goes from one sword to two upon the reforging of his Zanpakuto. The larger sword appears to be an extremely oversized Khyber Knife, and this blade represents the Hollow part of his power (also listed below in its own category). The second blade is pretty much the same, albeit much smaller only measuring about the length of Ichigo's arm. This Zangetsu represents the Quincy side of his abilities. While the swords are more melee based than anything, Ichigo has two devastating abilities in this form.

Getsuga Tenshou is the first of the two. It is a concentrated attack of reiatsu, forming a crescent moon shaped blast of energy that has been seen to destroy buildings and incapacitate enemies. It is even strong enough to knock the final villain back and make him note its power. He can shoot one out of either of his blades, though the energy that is sent out of the larger sword is black in color while the other is light; blue in color.

Getsuga Juujishou is the second ability, and it is the result of Ichigo firing two Getsuga Tenshous at once from each blade. They form a cross shape that he sends flying at his target, and the combination is almost twice as devastating as a single Getsuga Tenshou.

  • Zangetsu; Bankai:
Ichigo's bankai begins with the combining of the two Zangetsus to create one sword, Tensa Zangetsu, the smaller one filling the hollowed out part of the larger one. The true abilities of his Bankai are not touched on, as Yhwach actually destroys it before Ichigo can use anything beyond an enhanced Getsuga Tenshou. The Getsuga Tenshou Ichigo can fire in this form is insanely powerful, he actually manages to cut Yhwach (who also has the Blut Vene ability listed below) in half with it and with ease.

Hollowfication: Ichigo has the ability to actually merge with his inner Hollow, (who is also his Zanpakuto Zangetsu, for some convoluted fun) and power up even further. This takes interference from being exposed to a large amount of Quincy reiatsu to trigger it, upsetting the balance between his own Quincy and Hollow reiatsu. If this form were ever to be used in game, it would drastically change Ichigo's appearance, making him appear half hollow and half himself, and once again power him up even further. While in this state, Ichigo can fire a Gran Rey Cero (a dense energy attack that Hollows and Arrancar alike possess) and even combine it with a Getsuga Tenshou for even further devastating power.

Quincy Powers: Ichigo's Quincy abilities go largely untouched on, but he does come with one ability called Blut Vene. It's a defensive technique used by some Quincy to push their bodies to nearly indestructible heights, or to prevent themselves from succumbing to what could be fatal wounds. It is done by allowing Reishi (spirit particles) into the blood vessels, and any attack to a given body part will be either negated or minimized depending on the power of the attacker. The only way to know it is being used is by the blue veins that arise on the targeted body part. Ichigo has absolutely no real training with this technique, only really using it instinctually.

Note!!: These are some pretty heavy abilities that I don't THINK Ichigo would abuse or break the world with, but in Deerington he does come with some warping that I would be happy to apply here if it is felt that he is too much for the setting. All it will take is a quick copy and paste from his Deerington app to redo this section for you guys.

(Optional) Personality: In some ways, Ichigo is your typical shounen protagonist. He is driven by a need to protect everyone he cares for and anyone who needs it. It's a trait that goes back to his childhood, starting before with his being told that his name means 'One who protects' and only strengthening after the untimely demise of his mother and the center of his world, Masaki. Even that incident is unfortunately brought on by the instinct he has, as she is killed by the Hollow Grand Fisher following his interference with what he thought was a kid about to fall in a river. The guilt and devastation upon waking up with her body shielding him is something that he will always hold onto, and those things seem to be the catalyst to his fierce determination to never let another person die needlessly on his watch again.

Ichigo will stop at nothing, not even his own death to achieve that goal, as seen multiple times in the series. His own demise isn't something he seems to fear, Ichigo is far more worried about it happening to someone he cares about and being unable to prevent it again.

His determination is a beast of it's own, pushing Ichigo to achieve almost anything he sets his sights on; even against the lowest of odds. Storming Soul Society to stop Rukia's execution, or going to Hueco Mundo to bring Orihime back home are both examples of him taking on the impossible with minimal backup from the friends who come with him. It doesn't matter if an opponent is fifty times stronger than him, he will keep getting up and coming back for more until he finally defeats them or once again, he is dead. The resolve he has only seems to falter in the face of his own perceived failures, like his inability to do anything about Aizen defeating his Dad and two mentors with ease, or being unable to control the Hollow inside of him in earlier canon. Ichigo typically winds up in a much more sullen and guilty state, even more withdrawn from people than is normal for him. It's usually short lived though, because that 'do or die' attitude always takes over in the end; albeit sometimes with assistance in the form of (sometimes not so gentle) encouragement from his friends.

Honor in things is important to Ichigo, although sometimes his sense of it can be a little bit skewed. One might argue that being vengeful toes the line of being honorable, but Ichigo firmly believes in dishing out in return what was served. This applies to both him and his enemies, demonstrated in the way that Ichigo asks Ulquiorra to take the limbs he had destroyed on the Espada during a fight his Hollow had taken over. Winning is important to him, but winning unfairly goes directly against that sense of honor Ichigo holds himself to.

Paired with his honor system is a strong belief in holding one's allies in decent regard at the very least. Ichigo is disgusted by people who look down on their team, whether that be out of general dislike or out of being far stronger than those around them. For as stubborn and determined as he is, Ichigo has no problem letting go of the past in favor of redemption and forward progress. Even aligning his interests with former enemies is in the realm of possibility if it falls in line with the common goal to stop whatever world shattering thing is happening. Teaming up with Aizen, notably the second worst villain Ichigo has faced, for the final fight of the series is a prime example of it. It's not even a begrudging alliance, Ichigo is seen being legitimately concerned for his well being when Aizen takes a devastating blow from Yhwach.

Moving away from the deeper aspects of his personality for a moment, on the surface Ichigo is just a surly teenager with a semi-permanent scowl on his face. It's a demeanor he has adopted over the years to go with the perception people have about his general appearance. His hair color alone has made him a target for bullying and thugs alike, as it seems to make people think that he is either odd (in the case of his younger years) or a straight up punk himself. Not being the best people person, it's easier to use that persona to keep people at arms length. Despite the fact that Ichigo acts like a badass without a care in the world, he seems to attract people to him anyway and thus he finds himself with a fairly impressive list of friends and acquaintances.

Getting onto that list isn't exactly hard to do, though there might be a level of insult when Ichigo can't remember your name. Unless something noteworthy occurs upon meeting him, he flat out sucks at that and has been seen a few times just using identifiers or crude nicknames to refer to someone. Sometimes that doesn't come out of forgetting, though. Another notable trait of Ichigo's is his impolite way of dealing with people, peers and elders alike. Some characters of much higher social status get inappropriately called by their given names, where everyone else gets called by their last names with no honorifics. And that's just the start of his lack of manners. Ichigo would probably tell the Emperor of Japan to get the hell out of his way, and not think twice about it.

It doesn't matter who it is that he is talking to, generally if he has an opinion, it will be heard. Ichigo is outspoken and hard headed, so he often clashes with his friends and strangers alike, mostly in a harmless banter kind of fashion.

For all of his efforts to seem like he doesn't care what people think or do, Ichigo is incredibly responsive in his reactions to things. Irritation being the most common one, but by far not the only one. Empathy is another range of emotion he holds in his arsenal, Ichigo genuinely does care about people and their lives--even lack thereof as seen by how he brings flowers or toys to ghosts in the beginning of the series. If you're a being; enemy, stranger or friend alike, he will find some way to empathize and care. Hatred doesn't seem to be a feeling that he harbors for very long, if at all, except for extremely deep and extenuating circumstances such as facing the Hollow that killed his mother.

Ichigo does have a sense of humor, dry and pretty dead pan most of the time, but a sense of humor nonetheless. He enjoys being around his friends and family, even if he is hard pressed to admit it sometimes due to that persona he holds himself to. He can pretend all day to be detached and 'cool' about it, but there is a genuinely happy aura he gets in these moments that isn't hard to see if looked at closely enough.

Another very notable reaction garnered from Ichigo is his oddly innocent embarrassment at anything sexual in nature. No one has ever turned a darker shade of red faster than he can at the sight of breasts or mentions of anything remotely perverted in nature. The quickest way to get him to freak out or shut up completely is to suggest anything of the like, something that quite a few characters do just because they can.

Ichigo is competitive by nature as well, and it doesn't take much to get him to engage by issuing a challenge. It applies to anything from playing video games or sports, to full blown battle. Not the type to back down, Ichigo has admitted himself that if someone tries to challenge him, he is going to take it head on.

He may be brash and impulsive, traits generally associated with someone of possible lower intellect, but Ichigo is deceptively smart. He does very well in school, to start, and has the keen ability to analyze and react to an enemy in almost an instant. His perception is off the charts, often surprising the people around him.

In conclusion, Ichigo Kurosaki is a fiercely loyal and (over)protective friend and ally, who will stop at absolutely nothing to achieve his goals. He is rude and irritable with a rough exterior, but also an incredibly kind and caring person. Honest to a fault and generally honorable, he is genuinely a good person who fits well with the title of hero. Being ridiculously overpowered helps with that, of course.

Deerington Personality Changes: Not MUCH has changed about Ichigo in his short time in Deerington, the only thing to note is that he is definitely better at exercising caution in situations. Where before he would just crash in and try to force the situation into his own favor, now he is a little more understanding when things are not going his way.

History: Ichigo's canon history [community profile] bleach Wiki

CRAU/ Deerington History:
    June
  • Meets the Faeries lurking around who use magic on him, becomes a homicidal maniac who is saved through the power of friendship by Orihime
  • Enters Pan's Labyrinth where he fights a Minotaur with Orihime, fights off some man eating poison vines with Voltron's Shiro, some other basic shenanigans. At the end of the Labyrinth, Orihime and Ichigo are rewarded with some traumatic memory sharing of their family members dying.
    July
  • Mother Superior (evil nun NPC) announces that she is going to trap them all under a dome and turn them against each other. Rumors of characters start popping up as graffiti everywhere and the heat in the dome starts cranking up. Thanks greenhouse effect. It's miserable.
  • Zangetsu arrives and moves in with him and Orihime. Ichigo turns 18, they have a silly party at home.
  • Ichigo wakes up locked in a confessional booth with Link (Legend of Zelda), where the air slowly depletes until they make enough satisfying confessions to be let out.
  • The monthly event kicks off, in the form of Danganronpa trials, psycho Monokuma included. Ichigo attends the trial of Voltron's Lotor, who is found guilty of his crimes and tortured slowly. Ichigo can't deal with watching it, and takes matters into his own hands by mercy killing him.
  • Ichigo's own trial for murder and contempt of court kicks off, and ends badly despite Orihime's best efforts to argue his innocence. He is executed. He comes back from the dead about a week and a half later.
    August
  • Ichigo literally lays low for the entire month, battling the 'death flu', or side effects that occur upon death in the town. The end.
    September
  • Zangetsu goes home.
  • Ichigo throws Orihime a birthday party by himself, starts to realize he's getting some ~feelings~ growing for her. Said feelings get even more confusing a week or so later, when they go to the movies and wind up kissing thanks to unknown environmental influences.
  • Goes into a dream sequence with Shiro, where they help plant Sleeper hearts for Cynthia Sodder in the fields where dead characters go. In return for their help, Ichigo receives Moon Essence, a liquid that is able to cure any ailment or change someone back into their original form, should they change.
  • Ichigo makes the terrible decision to send Mother Superior 150 'Fuck You' stickers, receives an Annabelle doll in return. Oops.
